The fourth Yellow-browed Warbler of the autumn was caught and ringed at Carey Secret Garden ringing station this morning, whilst another was also ringed at Durlston Country Park, further supporting evidence of a big movement this year!

Dark-bellied Brent Goose numbers continue to creep up with 14 in Lytchett Bay (plus 1 Spotted Redshank) and another 6 in Brands Bay, where there were also 2 Grey Plover, 22 Lapwing, 24 Curlew, 25 Turnstone, 1 Greenshank, 72 Black-tailed Godwit, 26 Pintail, 62 Teal, 112 Wigeon, 1 Sparrowhawk & 1 Marsh Harrier. Elsewhere on this morning’s low tide, in the lower end of the Middblebere Channel there were 100+ Avocet, 1 juvenile Spoonbill, 1 Marsh Harrier, 20 Dunlin, 50 Black-tailed Godwit, 13 Curlew, and 40 Redshank alongside building numbers of winter duck. And the highlights from Holes Bay were 16 Avocet and 1 Greenshank this morning, along with 1 Firecrest in Grove Wood.
