It was a bit quieter today in terms of birds reported but still enough to keep the average birder interested. The Lesser Yellowlegs was again out in Lytchett Bay for its third day feeding on the low tide, with 3 Curlew Sandpiper and a few Ringed Plover also dropping down. There was a Yellow-browed Warbler in Chads Copse at Lytchett Bay too and a flock of 9 Lesser Redpoll passed over Lytchett Fields. A Great White Egret was in Middlebere having gone missing for a few days and 43 Spoonbill were out on Shipstal Point, Arne. Our latest night recording session produced 361 Song Thrush calls, 631 Redwing calls, 34 Blackbird calls, 2 Ring Ouzel, 1 Goldcrest, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 alba wagtail flock and what we’re pretty sure is a Black-tailed Godwit flock.
