The sunny weather made perfect conditions for our Spring Safari Cruise this morning and also brought out plenty of good sightings. 2 Osprey were fishing distantly over Middlebere with 1 catching successfully. Adult female White-tailed Eagle G466 was sat up nicely on a post in the Wareham Channel and later soaring over Arne. The Pink-footed Goose was still hanging out with the Greylags and Canadas at Swineham Point. Nice views of a single Spotted Redshank in the mouth of the River Frome with still a significant number of Black-tailed Godwit around on the encroaching tide. 3 Little Ringed Plover were in the Frome Valley and 2 Marsh Harrier were active as well. Later on in the day 2 Yellow Wagtail were on the scrapes at Swineham. 3 Spoonbill were off Shipstal Point. 638 Black-tailed Godwit were still in Holes Bay along with just 1 Avocet and 2 Dunlin remaining. 2 Green Sandpiper were visible from the raptor screen at RSPB Arne.
