Sorry for our delay in getting sightings out for today. It’s been another great day for raptor sightings, including from our first Spring Safari Cruise, with 3 White-tailed Eagle seen at Keysworth, as well as at least 6 Marsh Harrier and 1 Red Kite over Swineham and the Wareham Channel. 1 Short-eared Owl was reported over Arne Moors in the afternoon. The bird of prey activity continued over in Lytchett Bay with 1 male Merlin, 1 Red Kite, 1 Marsh Harrier and 2 White-tailed Eagle seen. 1 Spoonbill was present in the Middlebere Channel early this morning, and 3 were logged on the Brownsea Lagoon this afternoon, along with 53 Grey Plover, 10 Knot, 50 Bar-tailed Godwit, 11 dark-bellied Brent Geese, 50 Avocet and 47 Mediterranean Gull. On the falling tide this afternoon at Holes Bay were counts of 657 Black-tailed Godwit, 53 Dunlin, 3 Knot and 1 Avocet.
