Harbour Update – posted 16/12/23

The Studland hall of fame was doing it’s thing today, with no real change since yesterday with 1 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Black-throated Diver, 2 Slavonian Grebe, 2 Black-necked Grebe, 2 Eider, 6 Great Northern Diver, 3 Goldeneye, and a good sweep of Red-breasted Merganser and Great Crested Grebe all viewable from Jerry’s Point, Studland over the course of the day. We wonder when and what the next new arrival will be for this area over the coming weeks? Maybe a Velvet Scoter? Red-necked Grebe?…..Black Guillemot?! Little Auk?! There was 1 Water Pipit and 1 Spotted Redshank at Lytchett Fields. The White-tailed Eagle pair were commuting between Middlebere and the Wareham Channel.
